اثر دیکھا دعا جب رات بھر کی
ضیا کچھ کچھ ہے تاروں میں سحر کی
ہوئے رخصت جہاں سے صبح ہوتے
کہانی ہجر میں یوں مختصر کی
تڑپ اٹھے لحد میں سونے والے
زمیں کی سمت یوں تم نے نظر کی
سحر کو موت کی مانگی دعائیں
دعا مقبول ہوتی ہے سحر کی
یہ بجلی ہے کہ اے ابر شب ہجر
ہے دھجی ایک دامان سحر کی
