Dalalar – qirlarda, adirning yonida,
Har turli yovvoyi ko‘katlar qo‘ynida
Uxlagan yo‘lchini nimaga uyg‘otding?
Ne uchun ko‘zingdan sadafdek yosh to‘kding?

Bevafo bir etak qo‘lingdan chiqdimi,
Yo go‘zal maskaning ilonga in bo‘ldi?
Yo erkin ko‘nglingni tiriklik siqdimi,
Yo sevgan go‘daging bo‘riga yem bo‘ldi?..

Har holda, men kabi bir sayoq – telbasan,
Yuzingga hech qayda bir eshik ochilmas.
Sen qochgan yo‘l bilan, odatda, qochilmas,
U yo‘l ham – boshqadek – mahv etar… bilgaysan!..

Adirning tepasi bir ozroq joy berdi,
Kiprikni kiprikka qo‘ydim-da yoyildim.
Shu chog‘da ko‘klarda ko‘lankang ko‘rindi,
Tush bilan ko‘rishar-ko‘rishmas ayrildim…

Ko‘zimda sen kabi uyqu yo‘q, ey bulut!
Istayman o‘limdek umrli bir sukut!..
