Shart kesilgan boshga o’xshatdim.
Parcha-parcha kuygan shafaqlar
Tirqiragan qonni eslatdi!
Qanday qo’rqinch! Qanday qabohat!
Mumkin emas hech qiynalmasdan!
Aqlidan ozganmi muhabbat?
Mumkin emas, qarshi turmasdan!

Mumkin emas, ey, oliy janob,
Necha yurakni aylab xarob.
Shohona toj kiygan muhabbat,
Mumkin emas! Qanday qabohat!
Ki, odamning o’ziniginamas,
Hissini ham xarob qilsa davr!
Qiynalaman!.. Yuragimda hovur…
Bu — qarshilik! Yo’q! Gina emas.

Bu — qarshilik! Ko’ring tarixni.
Umr tepasida musht tuygan…
Qiynalaman vijdon bilan man,
Mumkin emas, qarshi turmasdan!
O’z zimmamga katta ish oldim:
Ehtimolki, tamom qilmasdan –
Umrim tugar. Ammo, bo’lmaydi
(Ko’nglim o’rniga hech tushmaydi).
Senga qarshi bosh ko’tarmasdan
Asrlarni yig’latgan sevgi!!!
