“Ni’l ḟios agam,” duḃairt an riġ, “cé agaiḃ a ndeunfaiḋ me an ċoill do; aċt cé agaiḃ is gasta? (agus deunfaiḋ me ḋo é.)”
“Tá mise,” duḃairt an ċeud ḟear.
“Cad é an ġastaċt ṫiucfaḋ leat a ḋeunaḋ?”
“An beaṫaċ is gasta (luaiṫe) riṫ ariaṁ, ċuirfinn crúḋ air, agus é air a rása.”
“Tá mise ċoṁ gasta leis,” ar san dara fear.
“Cad é an ġastaċt ṫiucfaḋ leat-sa a ḋeunaḋ?”
Dá mbeiḋeaḋ teaċ fada agad, leag bonn a ḋá ṫaoḃ-ḃalla, agus a ḋá ḃinn; ná fág ’nna seasaṁ aċt ceiṫre coirnéil; lion lán eúnaċ (eún) dá ċuid an ċnuic; ṫiucfainn ṫart air na ceitre coirneul ċoṁ gasta, naċ leigfinn aon ċeann amaċ naċ m-béarfainn air.”
“Tá tu gasta,” duḃairt an riġ.
“Tá mise ċoṁ gasta leis,” ar san trioṁaḋ fear.
“Nior ḃféidir duit ḃeiṫ ċoṁ gasta; cad é an ġastacṫ a ṫiucfaḋ leat a ḋeunaḋ?”
“Taḃair leat mála ċlúiṁ go dti an cnoc
