Aytalarkim, sovuq, g‘amli qora qish
O‘tib ketib, kelmish chiroyli bahor.
Gulga oshiq bo‘lib sayrar emish qush,
Gul ham ul qushlarga nozlanib qarar.

Aytalar, dalada yer beti tamom
Ko‘m-ko‘k duxobadan ko‘ylaklar kiymish.
Xo‘rozlar chaqirib, yuzin ochsa tong,
Saboning labini oshiqlar emmish…

Har kimda bir shodlik, har kimda bir ruh,
Har kim kulib qarar emish dunyoga.
Hatto chol-boboylar aytalarmish: «Uh,
Chiqib yursak edi yozgi havoga!»

Faqat men bir o‘zim, Sharqning bir qizi
Bahor kelganini ko‘rmay qolaman.
Uzun, qora qishning ketmasdan izi
Uning do‘sti – kuzni kutib olaman.

Menim uchun yorug‘ dunyo rohati –
To‘rt devor ichida ko‘zlar o‘ynatmoq.
Menim uchun ulug‘ shodlik soati –
Telba ko‘kragimda o‘ylar uyg‘otmoq…

Men bir Sharq qiziman, Sharqning o‘zidek
Butun tanim, jonim – xayol uyasi.
Menim qora ko‘zim kiyik ko‘zidek
Belgisiz ovchining o‘qin ko‘rgusi…

Aytalarkim, yozda har bir joni bor
Erkin nafas olar, shodlanar, yayrar…
Aytmaylarkim, Sharqda bog‘liq xotinlar
Ul yorug‘ dunyoga na zamon kirar?..
