At Thai Wikisource, we found a Pali Tripiṭaka written in Thai script, and according to the policy th:วิกิซอร์ซ:วิกิซอร์ซคืออะไร#ภาษา, we cannot proofread the text there, so I'm wondering if multilingual Wikisource accepts Pali works using Thai script? Here's one of the 45 books of the text. --Bebiezaza (talk) 02:14, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
And as it is published in Thailand, and the copyright had expired in Thailand, can we use our copyright expired law to proofread the text here? --Bebiezaza (talk) 02:21, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
can someone here answer it because it seems like multilingual wikisource is very inactive

> we cannot proofread the text there         {!additional note: this seems to be from previous chat!}
because it's not in Thai?

Bebiezaza — Today at 6:16 PM
yes
the language is Pali

[matrix] <inductiveload> BOT — Today at 6:16 PM
then mulWS is the right place
it is, indeed, not very active
but that's what it's there for

Bebiezaza — Today at 6:17 PM
and yes, there are multiple writing system for Pali
{!Image!}
so Pali in Thai script is allowed, not just Latin
yes?

[matrix] <inductiveload> BOT — Today at 6:17 PM
that will depend on the Thai Wikisource policy
i.e. do they accept anything in Thai script or only in the Thai language

Bebiezaza — Today at 6:19 PM
the policy, translated for the only language section: (hopefullt image goes through, and yes, this is google translated)

[matrix] <inductiveload> BOT — Today at 6:21 PM
then looks like it goes at mulWS indeed

Bebiezaza — Today at 6:22 PM
and from text far far away ago
there's no proofread on mulWS?
*proofread extension

[matrix] <inductiveload> BOT — Today at 6:22 PM

Bebiezaza — Today at 6:23 PM

can you somehow go write at the discussion stating that mulWS can accept those works (45 books)
because of an ongoing discussion on thWS
and for copyright: age of the work is 94 years old, which is way way past the expiry date according to Thai law
but what about international, or USA law?

Bebiezaza — Today at 6:50 PM
wait, my brain lol
for clarification
1. thWS discussion is https://th.wikisource.org/wiki/วิกิซอร์ซ:เซ็นเตอร์พ้อยท์#ภาษาบาลีอักษรไทย and so I started the "discussion" on mulWS at https://wikisource.org/wiki/Wikisource:Scriptorium#Pali_using_Thai_script. I would like for someone to answer the "discussion" is mulWS as "evidence" for thWS discussion.
2. for the law thing, I mean is it good to place 94 years old work in mulWS as it is expired for Thai law, but maybe not internationally.

[matrix] <inductiveload> BOT — Today at 6:56 PM
i think mulWS operates under US copyright rules
same as enWS

Bebiezaza — Today at 7:08 PM
I think https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:PD-Thailand coupled with https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:PD-1996 works for this work

[matrix] <inductiveload> BOT — Today at 7:09 PM
sounds plausible

Bebiezaza — Today at 7:10 PM
and now my taskbar is stuffed lol
{!Image!}

[matrix] <inductiveload> BOT — Today at 7:12 PM
pfff
that's nothing
come back with 100 tabs and we'll talk

Bebiezaza — Today at 7:13 PM
lol 😅

[matrix] <inductiveload> BOT — Today at 7:14 PM
so what year was published?

Bebiezaza — Today at 7:14 PM
1927 C.E.

[matrix] <inductiveload> BOT — Today at 7:15 PM
and published in Thailand, right (I assume it was, but just in case)

Bebiezaza — Today at 7:16 PM
1927 C.E. according to book 1, 2, 19, 45
1926 C.E. according to book 37
centralized source (https://library.car.chula.ac.th/record=b1299192) says between 1926 to 1930 C.E.
and yes, published in Thailand
