User talk:Jusjih/Archives to 2009
hello,
I've seen that you started to categorize english author pages, and I think it is a great idea. I just wanted to let you know that there is a "pipe" syntax that lets you give a sort key, so that author:xxx is not listed under letter A. example:
ThomasV 05:59, 28 July 2005 (UTC)
You are now a sysop. ThomasV 07:32, 29 July 2005 (UTC)
categories
edithi, a note for author pages: please add both tags: Category:Authors and Category:Authors-V thanks ThomasV 08:17, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
- do not wory about uncategorized categories. I think that creating subcategories would be messy.
- could you tell me how to make the difference between chinese and japanese? User:ThomasBot has classified all of them as japanese. I do not know how to fix that...
- ThomasV 08:39, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
hi, are there categories for chinese and japanese, that I could use for the robot? ThomasV 05:45, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
I answered to your on my talk page. ThomasV 06:03, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
Categorizing Japanese page
editPlease write .--Shin-改 10:17, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
-
- en:Please add furigana of the title in the part of ○○○ if you categorize japanese articles.
- ja:もし分類するなら、振り仮名を付け加えてください。
Sorry. I cannot speak English well(^^;.--Shin-改 01:20, 25 August 2005 (UTC)

edithi, could you please create a list of all chinese pages that are not in the main namespace: Templates, Categories, etc... Also, there are two chinese portals at the moment: does that mean you want two subdomains? you may respond here. ThomasV 07:59, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
- I am creating a list of all Chinese pages that are not in the main namespace as follows. As I check all pages in the special page, I hereby exclude all pages that contain Japanese.
- The following shows all Chinese Template namespaces:
- 二十四史 作者索引
- In case you have any trouble distinguishing Chinese and Japanese articles, I will create a full list as well upon request.
- There are two Chinese portals at the moment because there is no traditional and simplified Chinese converter here. However, I do not want two Chinese subdomains. Chinese Wikipedia and Chinese Wiktionary where I am an administrator have internal converter that can be used in Chinese Wikisource in the future. I want one Chinese subdomain only, but I will try to seek volunteers from Chinese Wikipedia to prepare traditional and simplified Chinese converter.
- When Chinese subdomain is up, how will someone become the first bereaucrat or administrator?--Jusjih 09:34, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
- ok, please format this list like it was done for the other languages. read the scriptorium, all the instructions are there. for adminship, you'll have to ask yann. ThomasV 09:37, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
- I am preparing the lists of Chinese and Japanese pages, but I need more time to finish articles. When finished, I will make them ready later.--Jusjih 03:34, 29 August 2005 (UTC)
new main page
editalso, can you translate the phrase to chinese in Main Page/New. ThomasV 08:09, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
- I just translated it. You can count on me for Chinese language.--Jusjih 09:34, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
thanks. oh, you did not translate "articles" ThomasV 09:37, 28 August 2005 (UTC)

Cantonese
editThomasV asked me to contact you over Cantonese when I request him to keep the Cantonese main page on Template:InterLingvLigoj and don't move it to the zh subdomain. What is your opinion? - CantoneseWiki 16:29, 13 September 2005 (UTC)
- Hi Jusjih. as you might have seen, the transfer to zh failed, only a fraction of the pages from your list have been imported. I asked brion to try once again but I do not know if that will work. there's also this request for a separate cantonese wiki. I think it is better if you could handle all this; I do not have much time, and I do not understand very well what this user wants. ThomasV 07:28, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

chinese articles
edithello,
there are still a few chinese or japanese articles here, with the prefix "Broken". can they be deleted? ThomasV 11:14, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
Cantonese
editWhy is the main page of Cantonese disappeared? - CantoneseWiki 20:38, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
No, I didn't translate it myself. In fact, I took it from the PDF file found at the OHCHR website. [1] It's actually not the work of the OHCHR itself, but rather the United Nations Development Program, as that page says. I don't know exactly what the copyright policy of the UNDP is, so we'll have to look into that. I'm sorry I wasn't think about copyright when I created that page. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, blog) 22:06, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
According to [2], the UNDP gives permission to reproduce this translation for non-commercial research purposes. That means we can use it, no? – Minh Nguyễn (talk, blog) 01:27, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

PD of the Chinese government?
editHi, we have a text of the agreement between PR China and Tibet from may 1951 (so called 17 points agreement), it is in the Czech language and we need this for the cs.wikisource. The text (and also the translataion) has been published on a page of the chinese embassy in Prague here and we wonder what could be the licence. Is there enything like PD-ChinaGov? Thx for answer. -jkb- 10:47, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Thx. Well, there is no translator to be found. Only the remark Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Czech Republic All Rights Reserved which is on the bottom of every page and does not - as I guess - mean the text by itself - just the web site. So I will discuss it but I think we shall take PD-CN at the end. So we thank you much. -jkb- 14:18, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
So, now we have it - see s:cs:Sedmnáctibodová dohoda. Thx again, -jkb- 17:34, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
List of Hangeul syllables
editYou suggested here to transwiki the List of Hangeul syllables to wiki. As far as I know, it is the default preference to transwiki from xx.source to xx.wiki. So it should not be any problem to do. Do you know somebody (an admin there) who could do it? Please let me know, then after the transwiki it must be deleted here. -jkb- 15:06, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately no one in English Wikipedia can import. m:Help:Import says that importing is currently disabled at certain sites like English Wikipedia. Should importing be disabled, we may be forced to cut, paste and copy previous edit history. As I also administer Commons, I have seen image description with cut-and-paste edit history.--Jusjih 16:33, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- copied from my page, -jkb- 16:51, 2 April 2007 (UTC))
I see there are some troubles in the moment, I requested transwiki from it.source to here and there is no answer. I guess, that the admins on wikisource.org should have the possibility to transwiki to and from other wikisources as well as from and to other language wikipedias, as it is quite natural. But we have obviously some problems here. You can try it by copy and paste, I did it some times - then by opening the history, copying the history page and pasting it to the new article (talk page, naturally). It is not quite good, but if we do not get the transwiki possibility so we must do it this way. -jkb- 16:51, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- When I was splitting Chinese and Japanese pages from here, I made a few mistakes distinguishing them, so a few Japanese pages have been moved to Chinese Wikisource instead. ThomasV told that he could not distinguish these East Asian languages, so I volunteered as a native Chinese speaker. I agree you that admins on wikisource.org should have the possibility to transwiki to and from other wikisources as well as from and to other language wikipedias. We should build a consensus and then ask at m:Requests for permissions. How do you think?--Jusjih 17:28, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Yes, sure, I saw your edit; there are just some people bothering me. OK. Yes, I am completely sure that oldwikisource admins should have the possibility to transwiki there and from there as it would be natural only. But, although I requested the transwiki to and from it.source, nothing happened (see bugzilla:9435). And, as far as I can see in last days, there is a discussion on oldwikisource and incubator and these things, so that I really do not know how the future here is. See also Scriptorium here. But I agree with you, sure. -jkb- 16:59, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

editHi Jusjih, see please 2005年4月29日在國民黨到大陸和平之旅期間在北京大學演講, i cannot read it well :-)... -jkb- 15:01, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- Since you and I are admins here, viewing the deleted page history will find it moved to Chinese Wikisource. However, it was deleted there as a copyvio and I have reported it at Wikisource:Possible copyright violations.--Jusjih 22:34, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
thank you
editThank you for your endorsement of my adminship, and for restoring Take up the cudgels in defence of hungarian. It contains the clues I had hoped it would. Could you also restore Dr. József Végvári so that I can import it into en.WS.
Also be aware that I have responded on WS:PD#November 2007 that David Haberlah has responded to an email I sent yesterday. He will be surprised at having another person talk him about these images so soon; he was pleased that I contacted him and I am sure he will not mind that you also do. - I see no deleted history of Dr. József Végvári, so I cannot undelete.--Jusjih 02:59, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
question for the translation
editHi Jusjih, after I am confronted with often requests from Czech Wikipedia (not from Czech Wikisource) to rename the Czech Wikisource to any Czech name because it is more nice, i would like to know the Wikisource translations in some other languages, just like Chinese: what is the name of the subdomain? If you know the translation of the Japanese one, please let me know as well. Thanks, -jkb- 17:57, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
- Please see Wikisource for the Japanese one and many others. That page is not really an article so it should probably be moved to Wikisource:Wikisource.--Jusjih 01:09, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Well, I think I mean something else: some subdomains like fr.source or it.source kept the english name Wikisource, some transcripted it in other alphabets; some subdomains, however, choosed names like Wikizdroje (Polish WS), Wikitexts etc., which is partly the translation of english word source or something similar. As i canot read the Chinese letters, I asked what does it mean: is it a transcription (I mean: the English word SOURCE written in Chinese lettres), or it is translated to something in Chinese itself? - -jkb- 20:50, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
- Wikisource was once named in Chinese as literally "Wiki-source", but after Wikimedia Commons opened, the former Chinese name changed to literally "Wiki-text depository" to be more specific. The Japanese name is the transliteration into Japanese kana.--Jusjih 23:52, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

move
editHi Jusjih. There seems to be some problems with imports by transwiki, i am like to request a import flag for me, but it will surely take some time. So, in the meantime, I would like to ask you to import the page
- Úplná učebnice mezinárodní řeči dra. Esperanta
as it is on s:cs:Úplná učebnice mezinárodní řeči dra. Esperanta, from the Czech wikisource to here, use the same title here, I will formate it after the move. Thanks a lot, I hope it can be done (and I hope you will support my request for moving such things by my own in the future), regards -jkb- 18:26, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- Finished importing Úplná učebnice mezinárodní řeči dra. Esperanta but without the Czech Wikisource templates. Would you like me to import relevant templates as well?--Jusjih 02:44, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks a lot Jusjih, now it is OK, I work on it a bit later. Regards, -jkb- 06:37, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Sorry!!!! Why didn't I see the PD-US-1923-abroad??? I'm getting old..... I'll go to the oculist... -Aleator (talk) 19:16, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- well, it could be a problem in the future - might be we shlould either use the 1923 template by putting it quite on the top or to mark such pages in another way; when the template is on the bottom so the danger is there indeed. -jkb- 21:04, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- for a new template see my talk page pls, -jkb- 17:46, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
congrats
editCongratulations to confirmation, -jkb- 18:22, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
- You mean steward flag? If so, thank you very much.--Jusjih 02:11, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

cantonese zh-yue
editHi, see pls Category:廣東話 - can be deleted here? Main Page:廣東話 as well. Thx, -jkb- 10:03, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- There is no separate Cantonese Wikisource yet, so do not delete them yet.--Jusjih 01:20, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Arabic Wikisource
editThe issue hasn't been discussed locally, but most works are PD old (older than 19 c). We don't use PD templates as only 2-3 pages are GFDL. --Obayd 20:13, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- So the answer "no" is based on the de facto practice. Thanks.--Jusjih 20:19, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- The best answer is 'I don't know'. No such case yet for the community to discuss. --Obayd 23:48, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- Then your subdomain does not have a policy yet. I suggest that your community should eventually discuss when in doubt.--Jusjih 23:55, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- The best answer is 'I don't know'. No such case yet for the community to discuss. --Obayd 23:48, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Import from Incubator
editPlease see Wikisource:Scriptorium#footer. Thanks, SPQRobin 23:50, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- Could you import the talk pages as well via Ws/cop (3 pgs) and Ws/grc (1 page) from Incubator? Thanks, ~Troy 19:34, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- PS: I left out the 2 template talk pages from Ws/grc. That should make it a total of 6 talk/template talk pages from both projects.
- As well, while you imported "Template:XXX", the "Ws/(cop/grc)/Template:XXX" pages were left out.
- So, the templates from Ws/cop/Tpl & Ws/grc/Tpl need to be imported too (a total of 9 templates in addition to the 6 discussion pages).
- Thanks, and sorry for the confusion. ~Troy 20:01, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- Finished importing these 15 pages. Please check.--Jusjih 20:45, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- I have checked your 15 imports in addition to all of the other pages on my sandbox. Also, I have notified SPQRobin on the Community Portal @ Incubator. The pages now appear to be rendered pretty much as they should be, at least much more than earlier, so that is a good sign. Now that the pages have been imported, it seems as though it would be best to rename the pages/cats/templates first and then, at the end, check if there is still anything that might be missing. ~Troy 22:15, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- Finished importing these 15 pages. Please check.--Jusjih 20:45, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Can you ...
edit... please have a look at this? Google translator says it is the Republic of China national anthem. Thanks, -jkb- 08:16, 13 August 2009 (UTC) - - - for the first I deleted it as not appropriate. -jkb- 08:18, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
- The title is the Republic of China national anthem, but the latest added content is indeed the March of the Volunteers being used as the national anthem of the People's Republic of China. I uphold your deletion as Chinese source texts are to be posted at Chinese Wikisource while no longer accepted right here. An exception is for those published outside the USA through 1922 and still copyright-restricted in Greater China, usually because the authors have not died for more than 50 years. By the way would you please look at Wikisource:Scriptorium#Proposing_some_functions_for_all_Wikisource_domains? I consider that works still copyright-restricted in their home countries should be enclosed into collapsible pages with a note on the cover. Even after enabling the collapsible pages, I still prefer to keep Chinese works tagged Template:PD-US-1923-abroad/ZH but not directly posted at Chinese Wikisource.--Jusjih 01:00, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Hi. It would be much more aesthetic to keep the page at Wikisource. It is no more of a project page than the Main Page, which is also not in the project namespace. Plus this will create ugly redirects.
Furthermore, in principle the page is about a text, namely a single sentence in many languages. True, that sentence is describes Wikisource, but it is arguably a notable text nonetheless. Dovi 19:32, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- This is in a gray zone while I considered that edit history in Wikisource and Wikisource:Wikisource should be merged. I am asking at the Scriptorium for better opinion.--Jusjih 20:16, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
