Wikisource tenth birthday!
Wikisource went live on sources.wikipedia.org November 24, 2003. Six months later, it moved here to wikisource.org. In 10 years, a lot of things have happened to make Wikisource what it is today, a free library split in 64 language subdomains. In celebration of this tenth birthday we have created this page to present the Wikisource history, we made a proofreading contest organized by some Wikisources and interviews of some community members.
Important moments of the Wikisource history
- November 24, 2003: official launch at sources.wikipedia.org
- December 6, 2003: "Wikisource" is chosen as name for the new project
- July 23, 2004: Wikisource moves to its current URL, wikisource.org
- August 23, 2005: The creation of subdomain Wikisources is enacted, with the initial 14 subdomains
- August 2008: Deployment of the Proofread Page extension, written by ThomasV that gives Wikisource a powerful editing tool

We interviewed four long time Wikisource contributors, Yann, Inductiveload, Aubrey and Tpt about their thoughts on Wikisource.
