Og‘ir-og‘ir va faqat qayg‘udan yiroq uyqu,
Nechun uzoqlarga qochdingki, ko‘p yomondir bu!

Ko‘zim ochildi, biroq ko‘rmadim go‘zallikni,
Ko‘ngilda ya’s ila ko‘rdim butun tubanlikni…
Yo‘q emas edi go‘zallik bilan chiroylilik,
Faqat ular tubida jilvalandi hayvonlik…
Kulib qarar edi dunyosi goh-gohlari,
Faqat kulishlar ichida fig‘on va ohlari!

Nechun ochildi ko‘zim, qayga ketdi uyqularim?
Bu uyg‘onishda to‘lib-toshdi, oshdi qayg‘ularim…
