I am neither qualified nor the appropriate person to render this in English. But, at minimum, having a makeshift version in English is of value. If there is any truth and virtue in these words and me as person let them be brought forth in unobstructed brilliance. To true goodness and loving kindness and compassion for all sentient beings with neither fear nor favour. All those to whom I have transgressed or offended I offer this work to you as recompense. - it is challenging to get a sense of the actor and action and a narrative coherence so far
- it is somewhat naive to expect a medieval text of a specific historical point in time to hold salience for the contemporary reader, but I prefer to sunder my time doing this
- what do i hope to find in the Seventeen Tantras? Well, I hope to find a semblance of the virtue by which they are lauded by a tradition and canonized as the ninth yana... and so placed by a community that had access to the greatest philosophical literature of the time
- i expect that they are nothing but a product of their time which was challenged with making sense of complexity as it entered their World, and any philosophical and contemplative tradition that helps make sense and resolve complexity into a manageable coherence is of relevance in our world of diverse cultures beset with one another in which in truth very little can be held as a cultural universal
- but all i seem to read in Barron's translation of Longchenpa's The Precious Treasury: the Way of Abiding which quotes extensively from the Seventeen Tantras are platitudes and stock metaphors. which is confounding
- even though i realize my Tibetan grammar is god-awful I realize how partisan translation is and how present the translator is in the experience; i am sure so few people realize this as they spout such and such and so and so said this and that rendered in an English to which the selfsame person quoted was never privy...
- right now I am seriously wondering whether the Dzogchen tradition in English in the modern world is anything like its traditional Tibetan origin, of course it isn't it bares as little continuity as races of people between generations... there are strong, overt traits and more subtle
- I am wondering what the meme of nonduality really identifies, the experience I had in a oneness of my endocrine interiority was an intimacy that was so fulfilling, timeless and complete; i wonder if it was only my extreme pain, isolation and sense of otherness that allowed the experience of unity to be so rich
- I realize why i have few friends and social standing because I question EVERYTHING, very little is found to be of worth and to stand scrutiny... people have to build all these structures to contain the terror of openness... and it takes all my strength to fill that openness with all the most beautiful possibilities and bounty I may conceive even though I have no experience in my life to warrant such an attribution
- well i have had such experiences but they are all subjective, so... we get back to the truth of Subjectivity, and that is all there is... there is no proof of Objectivity except there are all these anomalies, that is people and other stuff I encounter through my subjectivity in my experience that have totally different experiences and Worldviews, well I attribute them such, or they present that... but we all take for a given that there are consonances... and most people i gather from the representations of most people to which I have been privy hold that they are of value and worth... people fight to preserve life... you have to really wonder why
- people construct a tribe and then construe others as adversity; only including that which is tenable and conforms or safely challenges their illusory constructions and representations of themselves and their experience of their subjectivity
- my experience of others is that they often position themselves as adversity as they do not even conceive of harmony, all these structures that have been formed by ages past have legacies, energetic legacies and actual
- how sane could any compassionate person be in this world? to maintain sanity the residual structures that are the legacies of community and community of times past must be rigorously reinforced but this is in truth insanity because they were constructed upon false premises on unfounded knowledge
