Jberkel
Hello Jberkel, welcome to the multilingual Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here.
This wiki is the original Wikisource wiki, originally hosting works in many languages. The larger collections have been spawned into separate projects, leaving this wiki to serve as a central collaboration point, and as an environment where works without a language subdomain can be started. Refer to our languages list to see which languages still reside on this wiki. You can find a list of the separate language projects on the main page or here and you may want to look at the our coordination page for limitations on placing certain works on the separate language projects.
Most questions and discussions about the community are in the Scriptorium.
The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page!
Bilingual work
editI found your work about Index:O Novo Guia da Conversação, em Portuguez e Inglez, em duas partes.djvu, did you upload it here (into mul.source) since it's bilingual portuguese+english? if you did, I'm very interested about! --Alex brollo (talk) 15:48, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, that was intentional. I initially asked at the .pt wikisource if it would be acceptable there but did not get any response so I thought the multilingual wikisource might be a good fit for this kind of work. Jberkel (talk) 15:53, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
- I agree deeply. There's a talk into Scriptorium about "revitalizing mul.source", presently it suffers from severe limitations, and IMHO inserting works like that is an excellent strategy to get multiple goals. If you need templates/scribunto code/js scripts please do, or ask for help from us: if I can, I'll be happy to do anything I can (as a user, I've not sysop profile here). --Alex brollo (talk) 18:47, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks! Yes I saw that discussion, I hope the issue will get resolved soon. A few interesting "showcase" projects would definitely help to revitalize the community here, there is currently almost no visibility of other projects. About template/code: I noticed some things from en.wikisource exist here as well, but other templates are missing. Do users just copy things they need from other wikisources? (another typical mediawiki problem) – Jberkel (talk) 21:16, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, sometimes is very difficult, since many interesting templates call other templates that call other templates.... any of them needs to be copied, and often there are conflicts among template names, so that the code has to be deeply reviewed. :-( --Alex brollo (talk) 23:51, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
