Necrophorus~sourceswiki
Thank you for the message; I'll be glad to delete as requested. I thought the apostrophe looked strange but I did not know enough about German to question it. I am still curious about "Thierleben", which in some sites appears as "Tierleben". I would be interested to know when it is correct to include or omit the "h".
Welcome to Wikisource; I hope that you will stay. Eclecticology 16:03, 9 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation about T(h)ierleben. I agree that modernizing the language in some of these old books would be a big job without a lot of rewards. I do not expect your English to be perfec. It is not important for talk pages, as long as people understand what you mean. On articles I will edit things more boldly. On user pages I approach things more diplomatically. Some people appreciate corrections, but others feel insulted by them.
Thanks also for letting us know a little about yourself, and your life as insect 48. I especially look forward to your material about the history of science. Many people working in science to-day too easily forget about the effort that was needed to get where we are. They are too quick to use the word "pseudoscience". In a book that I have from about 1835, the author reflects about the different early attempts to classify the insects. At that time they expected that the number of species could exceed 10,000. (sic!) So many insects, and no textbook to follow. Eclecticology 04:47, 13 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Necrophorus. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Necrophorus~sourceswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
