Hi, I see that you are working on Latvian and it has been added to the main page. Congratulations! I hope this takes off and turns into a wonderful collection of texts.
When you get a chance, it would also be great if you could also add Latvian information to the Wikisource - The Free Library page. Thanks, Dovi 17:50, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Moving pages
editHi and be welcome. Just one remark to moving of pages from one domain to another. Copy and paste is very bad as the history will be lost. It is necessary to make a transwiki import or import upload. Transwiki is not possible as the Latvian Wiki is not enabled for this. But you can ask User:Jusjih to make a import upload with all history pages. Regards, -jkb- 19:01, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, I am aware that such procedure exists, but I don't realy know how it works. I also am aware that copy-pasting is considered bad practice as it violates copyrigh policy, however I don't see a problem here - in cases I had in mind no-one's copyright could possibly be violated as texts are PD and involvement of Wikipedia users is limited to one user copy-pasting source text from somewhere else and another putting on deletion tag. Anyway, I wrote my user page quite a while ago, when I was testing waters here, since then I haven't really had to deal with anything like that - occasions when people put stuff, that would be better off on a sister project, on Wikipedia are quite rare and occasions when those clearly are source texts are even rarer, so community hasn't yet reached consensus what to do with them (unfortunately there is some oposition to developing sister projects and if anything ever gets done than it is simply deleting such articles) ~~Xil 21:12, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Well you are right that in case of the Wikisource the texts are PD (or should be...). Anyway, when such a page has been edited by some more people who added something, who formated it etc., so these edits can also have some copyrights. Therefore we are like to import such page instead of copy+paste them. I think Jusjih would do that gladly, the onyl one problem could be that he is not every hour here :D. But you can reach him on meta, englisch wikisource or zh.source as well. Regards -jkb- 21:03, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
