It is useful--I just came here looking for this, so that I could transliterate some Korean text, and the Wikipedia article was not helpful. This article was. Please keep. 131.123.231.143 00:16, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Wikisource is under no obligation to keep pages just because people "find them useful." We collect source texts and should not have to carry pages that won't fit on any other sister project unless it fits our guidelines.—Zhaladshar (Talk) 18:15, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wikisource is not the right place for this. Move to Commons, to Books, or delete. Romanisations benefits are very limited, as these are isolated syllables. You will have to refer to better sources than this to create decent romanisations. If you merely want to make a transliteration, en:Hangul consonant and vowel tables is probably better for everybody who can read hangeul. For those who don't, this page has the benefit that you can just copy and paste hangeul syllables to see how they are romanised if they appear isolated. I cannot think of any other use. Keep - if not here, then some-place else that is linked to by the Wik hangul page: Like another commentator, I came to it to check a particular combination(not all combinations are intuitive, and some-one can read hangul quite well with-out knowing the RR transcription). This is the sort fo information that Wik(ipedia/source, what-ever - but please not in the neverneverland of -commons) should be providing. 211.225.32.219 07:48, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would say we keep it here as it is, might be somebody will get the idea later... -jkb- 08:54, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • the Category:Slovensko is the same problem: here are 4 pages in the category which i did not found in Slovenian Wikisource (or not in this form); I left in the meantime 2 messages there (sl:Wikivir:Portal občestva which is a community portal) with a summary in big capital letters, but they do not seem to exist. -jkb- 09:26, 26 September 2006 (UTC) - - Just now I left a message on the Slovenian Wikipedia, if they do not react in some days I would propose to delete it (it can be renewed any time).[reply]
I am like to get angry. After I have made the notice in sl.wiki today, a user Eleassar moved three pages from here to sl.wikisource by copy&paste, as far as I can see in the RC. But no notice here, no notice on my page (I asked them for it). I delete the page now. -jkb- 21:38, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know. this is what I mean by "check manually". I guess some of these articles were moved and renamed. it has to be checked by someone who knows the language. ThomasV 06:16, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
They seem to be all translations of philosophical works into Hungarian, many by Aristotle. After a first quick search I could find only one Aristotle text at hu.wikisource, and it's not one of those listed here. Is there a way to contact the Hungarians? Smeira 09:11, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that Category:Edmeston, New York Images have lots of images never moved to en. 555 16:31, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

it is difficult to do something, as there are mostly no sources and licences giver; probably it can be PD, but commons would not keep them I am afraid. -jkb- 08:54, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I will try to have a look when I get the time. Mainwhile if somebody else want to do it, go! ;o) Yann 00:19, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted them. It seems that the images has been moved to commons (from en.source) in 2007 or later, see e.g. the notices in en:File:Edmeston NY Otsego School.jpg and commons:File:Edmeston NY Otsego School.jpg. -jkb- 18:29, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article Das erste Jahrzehnt der Weltsprache Volapük was marked for deletion (presumably because of being in German?), with a link to this page saying that this request would be explained/discussed here. I came here and saw nothing. I assume the delete request has been abandoned, and removed the delete template from that page. Of course, should there still be objections, I would certainly like to know and discuss them. Smeira 08:59, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hm, I see the article above was again marked for deletion, yet here on this page I see no explanation. Was it maybe a bot, who detects languages other than the main page's in texts linked to it? But there are texts in languages other than the main one in other wikisources... Anyway, I have again removed the deletion template from the article in question. Of course, if someone wants to discuss that or say why, then I'll be happy to hear about it.
no, I am not a bot. I answered to you on your talk page. ThomasV 14:18, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See w:de:Uwe Kils and w:en:Uwe Kils, the history and the talk to both pages, with some problems I guess; nevertheless, the place for the article is not here, when, then on en.source; the licence should be cleared (see the sentence the author is the holder of the copyright - which author? Uwe Kills or some of the publishers of the book??). -jkb- 17:10, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I moved the discussion to [[Talk:Author:Uwe Kils/bookawi]] - see there, -jkb- 12:31, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
both moved to en, see en:Author:Uwe Kils, en:Author:Uwe Kils/awi, -jkb- 08:15, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ehm, it is already on the Ukrainian Wikisource (here), but not transwikied, just either copy-and-paste or new posted. Normally it should be transwikied as it has a history, but it must be done by some admin from the subdomain, I am not authorized to do so. -jkb- 16:19, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
pages that are newly created and that should have been created in a ws subdomain should be deleted as soon as possible, so that the contributor who created the page has a chance to realize something is wrong. if we wait for several days, then the contributor might be gone and will not realize it.
concerning those pages that have no category, I guess we better try to find out first what language they are written in.
ThomasV 10:58, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it is probably Serbian (in the text they still say something about it as well), but as I was not sure i posted a notice on Serbian Wikisource yesterday (see here) - but they do not frequent their site quite often; sometimes it is not easy to decide what language you see. Either you know the languages well to distinguish or you need somebody. -jkb- 13:50, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
done, see here, -jkb- 10:01, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
