მარგალონა
Hello მარგალონა, welcome to the multilingual Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here.
This wiki is the original Wikisource wiki, originally hosting works in many languages. The larger collections have been spawned into separate projects, leaving this wiki to serve as a central collaboration point, and as an environment where works without a language subdomain can be started. Refer to our languages list to see which languages still reside on this wiki. You can find a list of the separate language projects on the main page or here and you may want to look at the our coordination page for limitations on placing certain works on the separate language projects.
Most questions and discussions about the community are in the Scriptorium.
The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page!

editPlease, fix author information on pages you create. Ankry (talk) 05:52, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
- I kindly ask you again to fill the author / licensing information in the pages you create. [[Author:{{{author}}}|{{{author}}}]] is not a correct author information and pages missing the author / licensing information are likely to be deleted as out of project scope or as copyright violation.
- Please, note also that for any text of a living author or an author who died less than 70 years ago, we need a written CC-BY-SA 3,0 license permission from the author (preferably sent to permissions@wikimmedia.org) or a proof that the text was published before 1.1.1923.
- If you need any assistance, do not hesitate to ask. Ankry (talk) 12:39, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
unfortunately it is impossible for two of us who contribute in this Mingrelian Wikisource to get those permissions from the authors. First, we do not know how to do it and how to get those permissions and also how to find those authors. We do not have any lever to do this kind of things, and second thing, it is not an official language. It is only spoken in a region of the Republic of Georgia. We just do our best to help the language to be preserved, as far as it is listed among the world endangered languages. Please, take this into consideration and do not delete our pages.--მარგალონა (talk) 16:29, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
- Please ping me (@Ankry:), when replying on your (and not mine) talk page.
- I think, receiving a permission is the only way to keep these texts in Wikisouce permanently. We can delay the deletion. But if the texts do not comply requirements, they will be deleted some day, I am afraid.
- Maybe, you can try to contact authors via the texts publishers? Or just ask people in this region of Georgia, if it is small. I hope "unofficial" does not mean "illegal to speak/write"?
- Ankry (talk) 16:50, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
@Ankry: Of course, "unofficial" does not mean "illegal to speak/write", but all this things are complicated in Georgia. Many poems here, are mine and a lot of them are my friends's poems. Even We can not issue permissions for our own poems :) We do not know how is it done and how we can manage them and so on. Thanks. --მარგალონა (talk) 17:41, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
Template:Header
editHi! Could you tell why did you reverted last three updates to the Template:Header? After these rollbacks the headers of the pages with empty field "author" became broken, e. g. Святой Евангель Матфейть эзда (see how the "author" now is displayed). --Nigmont (talk) 00:34, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
- sorry, I just wanted to fix the "Poem" template but was not able to do it anyway, as you see all the poem pages has become broken, as they have lost the form of an usual poem page. I am not competent, sorry once again. --მარგალონა (talk) 08:34, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
- 1) So, have I correctly understood: you do not oppose to that I would return the template to its previous stable state — that one which have been before your reverts; — am I right?
- 2) Maybe I could help you with your problem, but I need more understanding what is it — currently it is not clear to me, only suggestions... What did you wand to get doing those changes? Maybe you wanted to get something alike of variants which I tried to show in my sandbox: User:Nigmont/Sandbox? If it is really so, you may choose any variant as you like, and I can help you to learn how to get this variant applied to poetry items of your favorite language section (Mingrelian as I understood)?
- What could you say on all of this? --Nigmont (talk) 22:40, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
1). Yes, you are right, you have understood me correctly. You can return the template to its previous state.
2). What I meant is that early if we would use this code -
under the texts, it was enough to show a texts as a poem form and we did not use
this code at the end of the poems. Actually, some of them have both of them and they are OK, but texts without the code </poem> under them, have lost form of the poem, it's not problem weather the poems' alignment are in the center or at the left sides, juts we have to one by one add to those thousands of poems this code - </peom> under them and this is difficult for us because it is time consuming. Can you help us with this? Thanks in advance. --მარგალონა (talk) 07:31, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
- It seems to me that I have understood the problem... The MediaWiki engine now cannot normally process page markup where opening tag <poem> is present but closing tag </poem> is missed. And you have many pages with such formatting defect: they have the opening tag but do not have closing tag.
- Firstly I should say that any changes of Template:Header could not help you anyhow with this, because this template makes formatting to the header of the page but not to body.
- To help with this problem: I personally cannot do such mass insertion of the closing tag </poem> into all the pages where it is missed; but this looks like a typical robotic task which could be handled by a bot (if you do not know: wiki-bot is an automated user account which is run under programming control and operated by some experienced wiki-user having programming skills). So as I see what can be done: you (or me) could write request for help with this problem on the Wikisource:Scriptorium, very likely that some bot-owner gladly help you with this. Could you write this request on the Scriptorium page? If you cannot — I can do it for you. --Nigmont (talk) 08:34, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
You are so helpful, thank you for explaining all of that. As far as I am not competent about these things I have to kindly ask you to help us one more time and that if you could request it on the Scriptorium page, we will be happy about it. Thank you one more time for you help. --მარგალონა (talk) 09:46, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
- Well, I have written the request: Wikisource:Scriptorium#Help_is_needed_for_the_Mingrelian_WS. Now let's wait for some time, whether somebody would answer... --Nigmont (talk) 18:52, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
- Now Dixtosa have done these updates to pages desired by you; you also may personally bring your thanks to him for the help. --Nigmont (talk) 20:43, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
Dear Nigmont and dear Dixtosa, I am so grateful for your big help, we appreciate what you did for us! Thank you one more time!--მარგალონა (talk) 10:14, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
წერტილი მეგრულში
editგამარჯობა. რამე გასაკუთრებული დანიშნულება აქვს წერტილს მეგრულში? Author:რუმი. --Dixtosa (talk) 07:47, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
--Giorgi Eufshi (talk) 06:21, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
Do you not have any info on this? No title or author? Year of publication? I'm afraid we may have to delete this without the most basic info. Please {{ping}} me if you respond here. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 05:23, 9 October 2018 (UTC)
- Unfortuanetely, there are some poems or novels of which author we now nothing, most of them are folklore and we have no idea of the year it was written and its' author too. We are recording them from old peoples or pick them from notebooks they have shared with us. Mingrelian language is harshly endangered and we are helping the language this way not to disappear. We do not have finances for publishing them and wiki projects like Wikisource and Wikipedia are giving us a huge chance for language preservation. Please, we kindly ask you not to delete them. — --მარგალონა (talk) 06:10, 9 October 2018 (UTC)
- Understandable. Many cultural works like folk songs and fables have no specific author. It would be nice if you could identify some title for this or a decade or century when it appeared. What is your source for this text? —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 10:30, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
